About the role
We are looking for a skilled and reliable Carpenter to support the delivery of high-quality custom exhibition stands and bespoke build elements. This is a hands-on role based in our South West London workshop, with occasional on-site work at exhibition venues.
You will work closely with the Workshop Manager, creative team and Project Managers to build, finish and install custom structures to a high standard. The role suits someone who takes pride in their workmanship, works well independently, and is comfortable supporting live event delivery when required.
Key responsibilities
Build custom exhibition stands, counters, plinths and bespoke elements
Support on-site builds, installations and breakdowns when required
Read and work from technical drawings and build documentation
Assess, repair and maintain exhibition stock and counters
Manage materials, consumables and tools within the workshop
Provide practical build input to support design solutions and budgets
Supervise small build teams on-site where required
Maintain a clean, safe and organised workshop environment
Support improvements to workshop processes and equipment
Skills and experience
Relevant carpentry qualification or apprenticeship
Previous experience in exhibitions, events, set build or similar
Confident use of hand and power tools
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Ability to work to deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Full UK driving licence and flexibility for occasional out-of-hours work
Working conditions
Office and workshop based in SW19
Some travel and on-site work at exhibition venues
Physical role involving lifting and manual handling
Occasional evenings and weekends during busy periods
